MALDIKI BROCADES

Brocades of cotton and muga silk formerly made in Malda, Bengal, generally of the muslin type of texture and consisted of two kinds, called Elachi and Mushru, the former having both sides alike and the latter both sides different. In each, the figuring was obtained by the silk weft (see Elachi and Mushroo)
